About Us

The department is a regional unit within Laboratory Medicine at Blekinge Hospital that works with healthcare diagnostics of tissues and cell samples.

We are also responsible for mortuary services and autopsy. Our unit employs approximately 25 people, including biomedical analysts, cytodiagnosticians, doctors, medical secretaries, laboratory assistants, laboratory aides, and mortuary technicians. We offer you a varied job with good opportunities to develop your experience and skills. The department moved in September 2021 to completely new premises tailored for the operation. Here you will find a bright and fresh workplace and a team that enjoys working together. We work during the day and apply flexible working hours.

The Job

With us, it is important to be able to work independently while also functioning well in a group. The work within the laboratory mainly consists of common tasks in a clinical pathology laboratory such as embedding, cutting, sectioning, staining, and preparing cytological samples, but also in some cases immunohistochemistry and specialized cutting. The goal is for most employees to work with multiple tasks, providing great opportunities for variety in daily work. There is also the possibility to supervise students and take on your own areas of responsibility. We offer an individual introduction based on previous experience and skills, as well as the opportunity to participate in external courses.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a qualified biomedical analyst or will soon be qualified. As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and positive. You enjoy working with varying methods and tasks, which you solve efficiently with your good prioritization skills. A positive attitude towards operational development and improvement work is desirable. The department is accredited by SWEDAC, and we value quality very highly. Personal suitability is of great importance.
